8.2 million Tide Pod bag products recalled for splitting open and allowing pod ingestion.

It has been determined that 8.2 million bag packets of Tide Pods are being recalled by the manufacturer of the product due to the possibility that they contain a flaw that might lead them to open and allow access to the pods themselves.

The notice that was posted on the website of the Consumer Product Safety Commission this week stated that the bags that contain the individual pods had the potential to rip open at their zipper tracks. This information was provided by Procter & Gamble.

When the individual pods are subsequently consumed or handled, they present a significant risk to the individual.

After receiving four reports of children accessing the liquid laundry packets, three of whom later consumed them within the time period that the recalled items were offered, P&G stated that although there had been no reports of injuries, it had received reports of children accessing the packets.

However, the company was unable to determine if the packets were from recalled bags. There are also certain Gain Flings, Ace Pods, and Ariel Pods that are affected, in addition to the Tide Pod bags.

The company recommends that users return their pods in order to receive a full refund and a replacement, as stated by the company.

In accordance with the company's statement, it is recommended that customers return their pods in order to obtain a complete refund as well as a replacement.

In addition, customers who have bags that have been recalled can participate in the recall by uploading a photo that demonstrates the lot code.
