Biden pressures Israel to increase Gaza assistance routes and deliveries. (PART-2)

The two U.S. sources said Biden pushed Netanyahu to allow humanitarian supply trucks into Gaza and reduce material restrictions.Both U.S. officials said Biden advised Netanyahu that negotiating Hamas' captive release is the shortest way to peace in Gaza. U.S.-Israeli relations would suffer if Netanyahu failed to establish a truce, officials said.

According to the White House, the president urged Netanyahu “an immediate ceasefire is essential to stabilize and improve the humanitarian situation and protect innocent civilians.” Biden said Netanyahu should “empower” negotiators to return Gaza hostages.

"The two leaders also discussed public Iranian threats against Israel and the Israeli people," White House. "President Biden made clear that the United States strongly supports Israel in the face of those threats."
