The Dallas Morning News states that Rashee Rice, a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, is currently being sought by Dallas police as part of their investigation into a serious accident that occurred on Saturday night.
Around 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, the outlet reported that a vehicle that was either registered to Rice or leased to him was involved in a crash.
According to Kristin Lowman, a spokeswoman for the Dallas police, who talked with The Dallas Morning News, preliminary investigations have shown that two drivers, one in a Lamborghini and the other a Chevrolet Corvette, were traveling at high speeds in the far left lane when they lost control of their vehicles.
While authorities continue their investigation, two drivers received minor injuries at the scene of the accident; two others were transported to a hospital for treatment; and the identities of the culprits remain unknown.
Although his exact role in the collision remains unknown, The Dallas Morning News was able to obtain a police report that named Rice as the person they believed was driving the Corvette.
Rice, who was selected by the Chiefs in the second round of last year's draft, had an outstanding rookie season as the second-leading receiver for Patrick Mahomes, behind Travis Kelce.
A rookie record-setting 26 postseason grabs for the Chiefs helped him set an NFL standard, and he finished with 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns as the team's best receiver.
The 23-year-old Rice went to school at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in University Park, a Dallas suburb, after growing up in North Richland Hills, Texas.
