Hiker rescued from California cliff as ocean rises in stunning video.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office released video of a helicopter rescue of a man who fell from a trail in Golden Gate National Recreation Area and clung to a cliffside.

The Southern Marin Fire District requested a helicopter around 7:40 p.m. Sunday, and the helicopter utilized thermal imaging to find the man dangling above the rising ocean tide in the San Francisco Bay Area, the sheriff's office reported on Facebook.

"The victim was about 40 feet off the water line," Southern Marin Fire District battalion chief Jason Golden told KGO-TV in San Francisco. "The individual was starting to lose their grip."

The sheriff claimed the man fell 50–60 feet from the trail. The Henry-1 helicopter crew quickly carried him to safety at the top of the cliff for fire department and paramedic medical examination.

"The rescuer, afterwards speaking with him, said that was one of the most precarious rescues because of how the victim was grabbing on and how quickly they were letting go," he said.

A court in Uganda has rejected a petition to overturn an anti-gay statute that allows for the application of the death penalty in certain circumstances. The hiker is in good condition, with only minor injuries consisting of scrapes and bruises.

Golden mentioned that the Batter Alexander Trail, which is the location of the terrifying rescue, is typically very crowded during this time of year because to the warmer weather. The trail is also known as the Batter Alexander Trail. Heaps of steep cliffs can be found inside.

Golden recommended other hikers to exercise greater caution when they venture out on the route after the successful rescue mission that he had participated in. "Please be very careful when you get to the cliffs," he stated in response. "Don't go up close to the edge, and please don't try and climb up."
