Missing '1923' actor Cole Brings Plenty, 27, found dead in Kansas.

Kansas authorities announced Friday that actor Cole Brings Plenty, who had been missing since Sunday during a domestic abuse investigation, was discovered dead.

An unattended vehicle 43 miles southwest of Kansas City, Kansas, was checked by deputies soon before noon Friday. The Johnson County Sheriff's Office claimed they found the 27-year-old's body in a nearby forested area.

Deputies have not provided details about the death. “Our office is still investigating this incident and I will update if I learn more,” stated Johnson County Sheriff's Office spokesperson McKenzi Davis.

Lawrence, Kansas, police said earlier in the week that Cole Brings Plenty was spotted traveling south from the city center in his Ford Explorer SUV after a domestic violence incident Sunday around 30 miles northwest of where his body was located.

Moses Brings Plenty posted nephew missing person fliers on Instagram this week. One commenter questioned if his nephew committed domestic violence, as Lawrence police claimed. The uncle doubted his nephew would flee or be "on the run."

One flier stated the younger actor's phone was off, raising concerns. The elder star labeled his nephew's absence "anomalous," requesting police help. Lawrence police said Thursday they were in touch with family and exploring leads to find the actor.

The local district attorney's office stated police filed an affidavit supporting Cole Brings Plenty's arrest warrant, but the narrative was kept until formal charges were filed. A woman screaming for help was reported to Lawrence police Sunday. Local traffic cameras saw a Ford Explorer leaving town, they said.

Since 2018, Paramount Network's "Yellowstone," starring Kevin Costner, has dominated television. In late 2022, Paramount+ premiered "1923," one of its many spinoffs. Lakota ethnicity inspired both family members' Indigenous characters on franchise series, with the uncle being Mo Brings Plenty.

"We would also like to thank everyone who came to walk beside us as we searched for my son and provided the resources we needed to expand our search areas," stated. "I learned this week how many people knew the goodness in Cole’s heart and loved him." He said the family would "figure out how we move forward."
