Sen. Raphael Warnock criticizes Trump's Bible sales.

Sen. Raphael Warnock, D-Ga., criticized former President Donald Trump on Sunday for selling $60 Bibles with country music musician Lee Greenwood.

Warnock, senior pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, criticized Trump on CNN for overpricing the Bible.

"The Bible does not need Donald Trump's endorsement, and Jesus, in his last week, chased the money changers out of the temple, who took sacred things and sold them as cheap relics," he stated. This is what we anticipate from the former president, so the unfortunate thing is that none of us are surprised.

Warnock cited Trump's unsuccessful steak and Trump University businesses, which have been sued.

“If not steaks, he sells us a school whose degree is worthless. He stated he sells sneakers, schools, and now scriptures. The Georgia Democrat called Trump's sale of expensive Bibles a “risky bet” because the text contradicts his behavior.

Donald Trump is doing what he's always done, but this time it's perilous because people who buy those Bibles may open them and read, 'Thou shall not lie. Thou must not bear false witness,' where it cautions about wolves in sheep's clothing," he noted. You should be careful. This is perilous for Trump.”

Trump started advertising the Bibles during Holy Week, a holy period for Christians. Trump called the Bible “my favorite book” and warned that “religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from this country, and I truly believe that we need to bring them back” in a Truth Social video marketing the Bibles.

A source informed The New York Times that Trump, who has historically sold branded items, will collect royalties from his $60 Bible sales. The royalties arrangement is unclear.
