'Suspicious disappearance' of 2 women triggers Oklahoma probe.

Oklahoma police are investigating the "suspicious disappearance" of two women who failed to pick up children last week.

Veronica Butler, 27, and Jilian Kelley, 39, were driving together to pick up the children, according to a Texas County Sheriff's Department Facebook endangered missing persons notice posted Saturday.

Butler's stepmother, Guadalupe Torres, and father, Clinton Butler, told NBC News that Veronica had a custody battle. A custody case commenced in late March 2015 and closed about a month later, according to court records.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokesperson Hunter McKee said Butler and Kelley are acquaintances and may have been seeking for their children.

The bureau said that the Texas County Sheriff's Department requested state assistance in the probe.

Willow Christian Church in Indianola posted on Sunday that it would hold a "time of prayer" for the women and asked guests to send a "favorite verse or note of encouragement for their families through this difficult time."

The Kansas City Star claimed that Kelley is the wife of the church's November-appointed preacher, Heath Kelley. We couldn't reach him or the church Tuesday.

After the attack, the individuals suspected of stabbing an Iranian presenter departed the United Kingdom, according to counterterrorism authorities.
