Ten ways why screen time is bad for your health

Eye Strain and Discomfort: Prolonged screen time can lead to eye strain, dryness, irritation, and discomfort, collectively known as computer vision syndrome (CVS). Symptoms may include blurry vision, headaches, eye fatigue, and difficulty focusing. 

Sleep Disruption: Exposure to screens, especially before bedtime, can disrupt your sleep-wake cycle and negatively impact the quality and duration of sleep. The blue light emitted by screens can suppress the production of melatonin, a hormone that regulates sleep, making it harder to fall asleep and stay asleep. 

Increased Risk of Obesity: Excessive screen time is associated with sedentary behavior and a higher risk of obesity. Spending long hours sitting in front of screens may lead to reduced physical activity, increased snacking, and unhealthy eating habits, contributing to weight gain and obesity.
