The attorney for the viral video abused Missouri kid says she is out of ICU but has trouble walking and speaking.

A Missouri adolescent who was savagely assaulted in a "deranged display of violence" by another teen is out of the intensive care unit but has limited speech and problems walking, a family attorney said.

After a viral social media video of a March 8 brawl at Hazelwood East High School in St. Louis County, Kaylee Gain was hospitalized.

In a March 11 Facebook post, the St. Louis County Police Department stated the tape showed many persons brawling in the street near Norgate and Claudine drives.

Someone repeatedly punches Gain and slams her head. Authorities say a 15-year-old girl was detained for assault a day after the brawl. The man was brought to the hospital in critical condition after "suffering a severe head injury" according to police.

"Kaylee also recently began speech therapy, and has gone on a few short walks with the assistance of hospital staff as she is still unable to ambulate on her own," Bryan Kaemmerer said. "However, Kaylee does not have any recollection of the altercation that led to her hospitalization."

Parents want Gain, 15, tried as an adult. Kaemmerer stated, "the family believes trying the accused as an adult is the most appropriate way to provide the justice that Kaylee deserves."

According to Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey, the video shows a "deranged display of violence that must be punished to the full extent of the law."

Police submitted eight more teens to St. Louis County Family Court for assault charges on Thursday, NBC affiliate KSDK reported. They include a 17-year-old girl, male, two 16-year-old girls, three 16-year-old boys, and a 14-year-old girl. No teens have been arrested.
