Los Angeles— Travis Kelce will host his annual music festival next month after winning his third Super Bowl, earning a Webby nomination for his podcasting, and making headlines for his relationship with Taylor Swift.
Tuesday saw Kelce reveal his second annual Kelce Jam festival headliners. The Azura Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, Kansas, will broadcast the event on May 18. The event will feature Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, and Diplo.
“I like to keep it fresh, new and keep people coming back for more,” said Kelce, whose festival drew 20,000 people last year. Following their Super Bowl 58 win over the San Francisco 49ers in February, he indicated his event will continue to commemorate the Chiefs' third title in four trips.
Kelce has thrived off the field as much as on it. He and his brother, NFL veteran Jason Kelce, were nominated for a Webby Tuesday for their successful podcast “New Heights.” He's made news for his relationship with Swift, a 14-time Grammy winner who recently set a record for album of the year victories.
Since Swift is touring in Stockholm on the same day as Kelce Jam, she is unlikely to attend. Kelce, who has a great stage presence, suggested he would approach Swift for tips even though she may not be there.
The only thing I can learn from her that translates into how I can perform is just how relatable she is on stage,” said Kelce, who hosted “Saturday Night Live” last year. Comfortable, she is. Everyone joins her in the room. Even though every event draws 70,000 people, she keeps it intimate. Pretty impressive.”
